Hi all,

Has anyone had / still have one of these?

If so, does anyone find that when connected, it interferes with sensitive signals like lambda, therefore affecting the outputs and/or running of the car?

Was just wondering, as was reading an article by Frank Massey and he doesn't recommend certain scopes (quite an old article), stating that some "automotive" specific scopes do affect the voltage values etc.

Thanks

Hi mate

I still have the "Smart" and have never come across this ?

I use the Pico now though so haven't used it in a while.

Just out of interest, where do you ground when testing O2 sensors ?

You do get noise on O2 sensors, this can be filtered on a Pico.

Hello Markta,

I still use the Sykes oscilloscope and have never noticed any issues like that but I only use
it for basic everyday checks ie. O2 sensors etc.

The only niggle I have with it is now and then it will lock up and the only way to clear it is to wait until the battery runs down or take the back off and disconnect it.

I would not like to be without it as it is quick and easy to use on the simple jobs.

Kevin.

SMART certainly won't have those kind of problems. I think you may be talking about the much older "hand-held scope" that Sykes used to do though perhaps? Can't comment on that as I've never seen one in the flesh.

Richard
